Phil Neville reckons Manchester United will have an upper hand in the game versus Everton.
The Toffees will be in action at Old Trafford this weekend. They have just returned from Russia where they had gone to play in the Europa League. According to Neville, the tiredness of that game might reflect on their outing at United.
Previewing the upcoming match on a television channel, Neville said, “To return from a tiring trip and then, to get into action straightaway, is never easy. I can tell you that being a former player. So, there is a chance for United surely. But, they will have to catch it by the scruff of the neck. They will have to go hard at the start and get Everton down on the mat straightaway.”
“Everton isn’t having their greatest season anyway. I have seen them allowing the opposition easy goals of late which they normally don’t do. A lot of individual mistakes are being committed from their side, however, playing at Liverpool the other day, they were not that poor. So, maybe, they are starting to get into groove.”
“As far as United is concerned, they also have a sort of hit and miss season. But, being fair to them, they have had to deal with a lot of injuries and that of the vital players. You see they haven’t had a fit, specialist centre-half so far this season. Once they have a full strength squad, only then, you can judge them, not now. For me, they are a very good side, quite balanced on paper.”
The Red Devils, who made a bit of a comeback by winning against West Ham United after that horrendous defeat against Leicester City, will be looking for their third successive win on the home turf on Sunday.
