On August 13 of 2016, the hype and expectations were extremely high for the English Premier League as fanatics of football were excited by the arrival of the highly rated managers: Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte, Pep Guardiola and JurgenKlopp, all of which took charge of a top club in the Premier League.
With so many world-class coaches arriving to the same football league, it´s no wonder why the 2016-17 season of the English Premier League was being so hyped up.
The anticipated 2016-17 season of the top tier English League is reaching it´s final stages as it´s scheduled to end on May 21 and Chelsea has been convincingly dominating and are expected to emerge as the champions of England.
It has not been as exciting as many people was expecting it to be but it still has been an interesting season however, according to the former Manchester United player, Phil Neville considers it to be very boring and underwhelming.
“At the moment I’m actually turning off because I’m bored watching. I looked at the Real Madrid team and I thought, ‘how many Premier League players can actually get in the Real Madrid team?’ I thought maybe one, ´David De Gea could get in as a goalkeeper´ but that’s it.I’ve been disappointed for a few weeks now. I saw Real Madrid play to a level that I don’t think anyone in the Premier League can get anywhere near.”
That was the statement released by Phil Neville back on May 10 after Real Madrid defeated Athletic Madrid in the semifinals and Neville was so impressed by the performances from the players of Real Madrid that he believes almost no player in the English Premier League of the season of 2016-17 could perform at that same level, except for Manchester United´s David de Gea.
